Naish’s Noelani Sach Brings The Heat At Stop #2 Of The German SUP Challenge
The second event of the German SUP Challenge stopped on the island of Sylt, the northern most and scenic windsurf and surf location on Germany´s North Sea coast.
Competitors were put to the test during the SUP Wave contest as waves reached up to 5 feet along with extreme currents and chilly northwesterly winds. Nevertheless, it was a great opportunity for everyone to prove his or her abilities, especially Noelani! With her wealth of experience training in Gran Canaria, Noelani made the best of the conditions on her Naish Hokua LE, easily convincing the judges to award her the top spot with her dynamic turns and sweet wave rides.
After a “lay day” because of the heavy conditions on Saturday, participants finally launched their race boards on the last day of the event for the Technical Beach Race.
The large shore break challenged competitors after the beach start on their way to the outside mark. The return to the beach, however, offered some nice opportunities to make up ground in riding the surf. After rounding the mark, Noelani quickly ripped off her leash upon arriving at the beach and used a powerful sprint to finish first.
Congratulations Noelani for taking the overall win in the female competition! Stoked for you!
Also sending out a shout to Noelani’s father, fellow Naish Germany team rider Frithjof Sach, who finished 4th in the SUP Wave Contest & 3rd in the Technical Race!
