Kai Lenny & Team Naish reign supreme in Hamburg

Naish’s Kai Lenny put on a spectacular performance this weekend in Hamburg, Germany to win both the World Series Sprints and long distance racing at Stop 5 of the 2013 Stand Up World Series, the Camp David World Cup of Stand Up Paddling.

Kai’s performance on Day 1 saw him lead from start to finish in every heat of the World Series Sprints, earning him victory and the confidence boost to match. On Day 2, Kai took the lead immediately off the start and maintained it for 10 grueling laps while breaking away from an elite 10 person pack to secure a convincing win in both the long distance and sprint events.

This phenomenal result (and a top speed of 14 miles per hour) allowed Kai to close the gap on arch rival Connor Baxter from Maui, as they both head to Chicago next weekend for the next nail biting stop on the Stand Up World Series, and they get one step closer to the World Championship Title for 2013.

Manca Notar once again put on a performance of immense proportions on Day 1, ending in a victorious 2nd place. Meanwhile, on Day 2, Manca managed to power her way through the grueling long distance to finish in 5th place, and as a result, clutched 3rd place overall for the event. There is no doubt that Manca is someone to look out for on the Stand Up World Series!

Naish “Viking”, Casper Steinfath also continued his great form this weekend in Hamburg to secure a well earned 3rd place in both the long distance and sprint racing disciplines, and 2nd equal overall for the event. Casper’s sheer determination in the closing leg of the long distance kept him in podium position for the second day in a row, as Casper continues to show himself to be one of Europe’s leading lights and a serious contender on the global stage.

Casper also won the overall Title for the European Trilogy of events, with a 4th place in both France and Spain to add to his 3rd place overall here in Germany – a great performance by the young Dane who is clearly destined for great things!

Sending massive congratulations to all of our Naish team riders. A job well done!
