Stand up Paddling along the Ganga River
Three Lake Tahoe, CA locals (Ryan Salm, Martin Cavada and Jay Sanavage) and Jeremiah Kent of Los Angeles, recently completed a 6 day paddle mission on the Ganga River in India solely using their Naish ONE 12’6” and Mana Air Inflatable SUP boards.
Their adventure began at the Kumbh Mela Festival (the largest gathering of human beings on the planet) and continued through the rural center of India to Varanasi, India’s holiest city. During times of rest, they slept either on the banks of the river or were taken in by some of the friendly local villagers.
They paddled over 105 miles/170km in total with their gear strapped to their boards, a small map and no other real knowledge of the river except that their mission could be accomplished.
