Naish’s Casper Steinfath wins big at the ISA World SUP Championship
Naish Viking, Casper Steinfath (Denmark), was all smiles at this past weekend’s 2013 ISA World Stand up paddle and Paddleboard Championship in Peru.
Participating in his first ever ISA World Championship with team Denmark, Casper led the way for his team and brought home Gold in the Men’s Technical Race and Silver in the 24 km Long Distance SUP Race on his Javelin 12’6” LE.
Performing neck and neck, Jamie Mitchell and Casper battled to the finish line in both races, making the duo the talk of the championship. The Technical Race was quite the nail-biter as Casper and Jamie surfed in the final wave together, at one point shaking each other’s hands in a show of camaraderie. It was during the sprint to shore when Casper defeated Jamie and grabbed the victory.
“Super stoked with my silver and gold medals from the SUP races here at the 2013 ISA Sup World Championship! It was an honor representing Denmark and an honor to race against so many world class racers!” – Casper Steinfath
Naish’s Beau Nixon also placed fourth in the Wave Event.
Congratulations on an epic finish to a tough weekend!
