August 31, 2014 – Ariel Corniel kicked off a big win at the Tarifa Pro Kite Surf 2014 competition by taking the title in the first ever, Big Air discipline.
Ariel threw down a combination of old and new-school tricks with his Naish Torch and Monarch in winds that averaged 20-27 knots, with gusts up to 35 knots. Going big at all costs, Ariel quickly became the crowd favorite with consistent big jumps combined with inverted spins and a risky double handle pass.
“I feel really happy and content about my performance today competing against so many great riders and to win in the challenging conditions that we had in the finals. The big air discipline is one of the most explosive aspects of the sport since it was the original discipline from which the sport developed.
