Karen Wrenn wins the 100-mile paddle NYC
The 1st Annual 100 Mile Paddle – NYC, the ultimate two day charity adventure paddle and race happened the weekend of July 20-21. Oregon based naish rider Karen Wrenn took the challenge upon herself and ended up winning the women’s division and placing 2nd overall in the men’s class. Way to go Karen!!
The first day had a 60 mile paddle starting at the Hudson River Maritime Museum in Kingston, NY following the Hudson River downstream to Ossining, NY. Conditions proved to be tough and challenging on day one with thunderstorms, head wind and currents forcing Karen to hide under trees on shore at times. With 40 miles left to paddle on day two and conditions improved from day one, Karen was able to maintain her first position finishing happy and tired in Manhattan. It was a challenging course requiring effort, passion and heart but a true experience of a lifetime.
Congratulations!!!
