The 2014 SUP season kicked off in the Gorge as participants headed out on April 27th to Lake Oswego for the 2014 Willamette SUP Cup (W’SUP Cup).
Conditions on the river were somewhat challenging during the 6.7 mile course – the sun was partially out most of the time, but the current was pretty intense. The current was so strong in segments of the river that even the elite guys were falling in!
Taking out the Girls Juniors 17 and under event was Savannah Boersma and her Naish Javelin 12’6” LE followed by Sam Davies (Naish Javelin 12’6” LE) and in 3rd, Hannah Hill (Naish Javelin 14’0 MC).
For the Boys Junior 17 and under, 1st place went to Ford Huntington and his Naish Javelin 14’0” LE followed by Vetea Boersma (Naish Javelin 12’6” LE).
